Bring Dandy before approaching a wolf
An ordinary Wolf is separate from Lupo, the Guardian of Wolf Hill. Specially Prepared Hot Milk belongs to Lupo’s story request; you do not need that quest item to adopt an ordinary wolf.
Follow William’s introduction near the Animal Center to befriend Dandelion, also called Dandy, and take it with you. Dandy’s bark can calm a wolf that is intimidating you. Pet the wolf while the calming effect lasts, using the prompt on your screen.
Build friendship and adopt the wolf
- Calm the wolf before moving in to interact.
- Pet it while it is calm.
- Select a Mushroom in your bag, choose Hold, and offer it to the wolf.
- Return to the same wolf and keep building friendship if the adoption prompt has not appeared.
- When “Wolf seems to be completely tamed.” appears, choose Yes at “Keep Wolf as a pet?” and give it a name.
A Mushroom can work as food in this process. One Mushroom is not a promise of instant adoption from zero friendship, and there is no fixed number of days to count down here.
Avoid trouble while exploring
Crouch and use grass to avoid drawing attention when you do not want to interact. Red-flag Jump-off Points let you jump down; plan another route if you need to climb back up.
Restoring the Spirit Tree during Bloomfield Chapter 1 changes the wolves’ behaviour on the local hill. That story change does not mean every wild animal across Teradea becomes safe to approach.
For the large story guardian and the cliff route to its lair, use the separate Guardian of Wolf Hill guide.
