Get your first pickaxe and find early caves
Doug gives you the Old Axe and Old Pickaxe after Kat’s birthday party during the prologue.
To reach Underhill Cave, go to Bloomfield’s eastern coast, enter the shallow water, and head south past four islands to the end of the route. Look for Iron Ore and Copper Ore nodes inside.
Wolfrock Cave is west of the Spirit Tree. From the Spirit Tree of Spring statue, climb down two sets of vines to reach the cave. Watch for the Bengal Tiger nearby.
Enter Quarrytop Mine
- Take Lorelei’s request to deliver ingredients so you can enter the mine.
- Bring 3 Apples, 6 Wheat, and the Rye quantity shown in your quest list.
- If you need Rye Seeds, visit Heather’s general store in Quarrytop.
- Deliver the ingredients to Lorelei to receive permission to reach floor 10.
- Speak to the mine reception counter and rent a Mine Bag before entering.
Do not wait at the elevator without talking to reception: permission and renting a bag are separate parts of entering the mine.

Find Silver Ore
Aim for the floors beyond your initial ten-floor permit. Silver Ore is listed on floors 11–60, and an early place to work toward is the section around floor 21. Ordinary small rocks can produce silver too; do not only inspect large ore nodes.
Some mine rest-area shops sell Ore Vein Guide (Silver) for 300G.

The silver range is not an entry permit. If you cannot go deeper, continue the relevant Quarrytop story and Travis requests first. The later DLC section is separate from the initial mine access.
Descend, rest, and protect your haul
Break rocks to find ladders leading down. The upper mine has rest areas every five floors; their features can include fishing, hot springs, mushrooms, or wisps. Reaching rest areas can open later starting points for future trips.
Running out of stamina or falling asleep in the mine costs you the mining bag and the items you collected. Leave time and stamina to get out safely.
Which pickaxe do you need?
Inside Quarrytop Mine, any pickaxe can break the ore; stronger pickaxes reduce the number of hits. Outdoors, Hard Stone and some higher-tier deposits need an Expert Pickaxe. Do not apply the outdoor tool gate to every rock inside the mine.
